Privacy Policy

Account information: when you create a Typ account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Link data: the destination URLs, names, sources, smart-redirect rules, and bio-page content you create through your account.

Click metadata: each time a short link is visited, we record the timestamp, the referring page (if provided by the visitor's browser), a coarse device type and operating system derived from the browser's user-agent string, and a country code derived from network-routing information. We do not collect or store full IP addresses, precise geolocation, or any information that individually identifies your visitors.

We use account information to operate your account and authenticate you, and we use click metadata solely to power the analytics shown on your own dashboard — attributing clicks to the source, device, operating system, or country they came from. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

Typ uses a single essential cookie to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies. This cookie is required for the service to function and is not subject to a cookie-consent banner under applicable law, as it is strictly necessary.

We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers to host our PostgreSQL database and application servers. These providers process data on our behalf under their own data processing terms and do not use your data for their own purposes. We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law.

Links, sources, redirect rules, bio-page content, and their associated click history are retained for as long as your account remains active or until you delete them. Deleting a link permanently removes its click history along with it. If you delete your account, we delete all links and click records tied to it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required to comply with a legal obligation.

You may access, export, edit, or delete any link, source, or redirect rule at any time from your dashboard. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you or to object to certain processing.

Typ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, database-level access policies scoped to each account, and least-privilege service roles, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
